A week and a half after the earthquake, the number of those killed has risen to more than 42,000. The rescue phase of operations is “coming to a close”, with the focus switching to caring for survivors, many of whom have lost everything, including their loved ones. How can we bring our witnessing presence to a disaster of such magnitude and spread our care and compassion to our Turkish and Syrian friends?
